The safety on the vessels is CBO´s main focus. The officers are qualified either by Centro de Instrução Almirante Graça Aranha (CIAGA) or by Centro de Instrução Almirante Braz de Aguiar (CIABA). After five years of studies they achieve a graduation degree equivalent to university level.   

The professionals are also trained by the suppliers companies of equipment and technology when hired by CBO. They are prepared to do the planned maintenance of the equipment whose operation is constantly monitored with the objective of avoiding failures and accidents. When preparing to embark they receive information about how to proceed in more than 70 situations, such as fire prevention, receiving of oil, approach of platform and medical assistance, among others.   

Before embarkment, the crew goes through a strict checkup. The vessels also have balanced food guided by a nutritionist.
